The Power of Our God

Philippians 1:6 AMP

I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will continue to perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus the time of His return.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 AMP

Faithful and absolutely trustworthy is He who is calling you to Himself for your salvation, and He will do it He will fulfill His call by making you holy, guarding you, watching over you, and protecting you as His own.

Isaiah 41:10 AMP

‘Do not fear anything, for I am with you;

Do not be afraid, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you;

I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation.’

It is not the strength of a man's arms or legs we trust in; it is the power of our Almighty God who sustains us. Once, we boasted in the work of our hands—trusting in our flesh, wealth, power, and minds apart from God. But it is God who strengthens us when we are weak, and God who upholds us when we feel we can’t go on. He calls us to trust in His mighty hand, promising to guide us, make our paths straight, and lead us where we should go. "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10, AMP), He tells us, reassuring us that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5, AMP).

God never grows weary. He works through us, bringing about His will—what is good for us, and what we have longed for deep within. He fills us with wisdom and understanding, comforts us in times of trouble, and guards our hearts and minds in Christ (Philippians 4:7, AMP). He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3, AMP), giving us everything we need for life and godliness.

He helps us see beyond the temporary and fleeting things of this world. While the world is empty, unable to deliver lasting peace or fulfillment, God’s gifts are eternal and cannot be taken from us. Moth and rust destroy worldly treasures, and thieves break in to steal (Matthew 6:19, AMP), but the spiritual treasures we store in heaven are secure, and nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39, AMP).

Through the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, Counselor, Strengthener, and Advocate (John 14:26, AMP), we are empowered to live out this new life. The fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23, AMP)—fill our lives with abundance. God prunes us so we will bear more fruit, giving us a life that is full and abundant in Him (John 15:2, AMP). We are called to move and breathe and find our being in Him (Acts 17:28, AMP), and He fills us through and through. His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23, AMP), and His care sustains us daily.

He delights in strengthening our faith, encouraging us to release the things of this world that hold us back from fully experiencing Him. He wants us to know Him personally, as a friend. Jesus, our Savior, is the giver of life, our salvation. We trust Him because we have tasted and seen that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8, AMP). No one has cared for us or blessed us like He has.

The world sways with circumstances and is unreliable, but God is faithful. Each day, His creation speaks of His power, and our souls are revived. Just as He led David beside still waters and restored his soul (Psalm 23:2-3, AMP), He refreshes us. He blesses us with good things, renewing our strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31, AMP), teaching us that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9, AMP) and that true fulfillment comes only through Him.

In Christ, we are recreated—redeemed, washed clean, and sanctified for the good works He has prepared for us (Ephesians 2:10, AMP). The old has gone, and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17, AMP). The treasures of this world cannot compare to the free gift we have received through His Son, who died for us out of His great love.

We have found the world wanting, but in Christ, we have found life abundant. It is God’s power, not our own, that sustains us. Again and again, He shows us that His ways are true and trustworthy. We can place all our hope in Him, rely on His Son, and rest in the knowledge that He will always be with us (Matthew 28:20, AMP). His Spirit, our constant helper, empowers us to live the new life He has given us.

Soon, we will see Him. What a glorious day that will be! Christ has overcome the world, and through Him, we too are overcomers (John 16:33, AMP). He lifts us to new heights, empowering us to walk as He walked, filled with His peace and joy. Let not your hearts be troubled, for He is faithful.
