44 - Embracing Faith Wholeheartedly

Jesus said, "I assure you and most solemnly say to you, if you have living faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and if it is God’s will it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20).

This statement from Jesus isn't about the magnitude of our faith but about the greatness of the One in whom we place our faith—God Himself. Jesus teaches that if we understand and trust in God's infinite wisdom and power, even faith as small as a mustard seed can result in miraculous outcomes. The focus is not on the size of our faith but on the boundless nature of God.

To grasp this concept, we must recognize the enormity of God's capabilities. When we believe in Him, even the smallest amount of faith unlocks His extraordinary power within us. It's about being filled with the fullness of God, not about the measure of our faith. Our transformation and new creation in Christ stem from the profound belief in what He has accomplished for us through His sacrifice. This deep conviction in our hearts is what brings about the life God desires for us. 

When we place our tiny seed of faith in God, we allow Him to move the mountains in our lives—not by our strength or faith alone, but by recognizing God's supreme power working in us. It's not about what we can muster but about what God has already done. By understanding and believing in His grand work, we cultivate faith that, though small, can achieve great things.

True faith involves comprehending what God has accomplished in us and through us. It is recognizing our new identity in Christ and living in that reality. As we grasp this newness, we allow God's power to work through us, fulfilling His will. Scripture tells us, "In Him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28). This means our reality is not confined to what we see and touch but is deeply rooted in the spiritual realm where God dwells within us.

Christ’s work on the cross, His bearing of our sins, and His resurrection all signify that we too are raised to new life in Him. Our small mustard seed of faith, when placed in God, is sufficient because it relies on His grandeur and not our own. It is God's power, not ours, that accomplishes His good and perfect will. Our faith, no matter how small, is powerful when it is in a magnificent God.

We are called to believe in a God who declares us righteous, holy, and pure. As we embrace this truth, we begin to clothe ourselves with Christ, acknowledging that we have been recreated to such an extent that God Himself resides within us. This realization transforms us from the inside out, renewing our minds with His wisdom and understanding. 

Just as the temple was holy, we are now the temple of the living God. Our bodies are His dwelling place through the Holy Spirit, making us holy and righteous. These truths are marvelous and beyond words, yet God has revealed them to us so that we may believe. Even faith as small as a mustard seed is potent because it is placed in an Almighty God. It is not the greatness of our faith that matters but the greatness of God in whom we trust. Our focus should be on God and His works, not on our own efforts. 

God has already made us holy and righteous. When we realize this, we understand that even the smallest faith in a powerful God can move mountains. Our faith's power lies in God’s magnificence, not in our own abilities. By shifting our perspective to God and His deeds, we embrace the transformation He has worked in us and live out the reality of His presence in our lives.
