Center Your Mind

Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart. (Phil 4:8 AMP)

Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above the heavenly things, not on things that are on the earth which have only temporal value. For you died to this world, and your new, real life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. (Col 3:2-4 AMP)

As spiritual beings reborn, our focus has been transformed. Our hearts and minds now affirm the beauty that fills us, defining our new life and identity. Our heavenly mindset embraces all that is true and lovely, attributes of our new nature that overflow into a transformed walk.

We banish the lies of satan and this world that no longer define or represent us. Instead, we center our minds on what is right and confirmed by God Himself, implanting these truths within our hearts. We are new, and our internal spiritual makeup is new; therefore, it behooves us to set our minds on what is true.

Yes, we have spent a lifetime ingraining what we no longer are. It will take time for our hearts and minds, through faith in Christ Jesus, who loved us and gave Himself up for us, to fully grasp our new nature. We are called to clothe ourselves with Christ, to put on the new self of true righteousness and holiness, allowing our minds to renew and thus transform our walk in the flesh.

We have been afforded the glorious right and obligation to continually set our minds on who we truly are, no longer suffering under the pain of who we once were. We take every opportunity to exchange the false for what is true, raising the eyes of our hearts and minds to the position we hold in Christ, which has nothing to do with our old worldly life and its identity.
